New Delhi [India], August 2 (ANI): Janata Dal United (JDU) MP Sanjay Jha on Saturday lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on the late Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
The comment came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today claimed that the NDA government had sent the late Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to “threaten” him for trying to fight against the farm laws.
“It seems that Rahul Gandhi ji has made this saying the guiding principle of his politics. He has served yet another blatant lie, claiming that he was threatened by the country’s popular leader and former Union Minister Arun Jaitley ji for opposing the agricultural laws!” Sanjay Jha posted on X.
“The truth is that the agricultural laws were introduced in the Lok Sabha on September 17, 2020, and in the Rajya Sabha on September 20, 2020. Whereas the unfortunate demise of the respected Jaitley ji had already occurred on August 24, 2019,” he added.

Jha mentioned that Arun Jailtley always believed in meaningful dialogue and building consensus. “His behaviour was so approachable and simple that leaders from both the ruling and opposition sides respected him equally.”
“By levelling a fabricated accusation of threatening against such a popular departed leader, Rahul Gandhi
ji has made an utterly deplorable attempt to tarnish his dignity. For this, he should apologise to the family and supporters of the respected Jaitley ji, as well as to the entire nation,” Jha said.
“The famous saying of Hitler’s propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, is that if a lie is repeated often enough, people start believing it to be true!” he added.
Earlier in the day, while addressing the Annual Legal Conclave 2025, Rahul Gandhi, during his speech, claimed that the NDA government had sent the late Minister Arun Jaitley to “threaten” him for trying to fight against the farm laws introduced by the Modi government earlier.
“I remember when I was fighting the farm laws, Arun Jaitley was sent to me to threaten me. He told me, ‘If you carry on opposing the government, fighting the farm laws, we will have to act against you. ‘ I looked at him and said ‘I don’t think you have an idea who you are talking to,'” Rahul Gandhi said.
